The Greater Manchester Music Commission (GMMC) has successfully concluded two high-profile showcases at FOCUS Wales in Wrexham and The Great Escape in Brighton, marking a significant moment for Greater Manchester’s thriving music scene on the international stage.

Both events, known for championing emerging talent, provided a powerful platform for a curated lineup of Greater Manchester artists who delivered standout performances that captivated audiences and industry professionals alike.

At FOCUS Wales on Friday, 9th and Saturday 10th May, the GMMC showcase took over various venues with a dynamic set of performances from Body Water, better joy, DEAFDEAFDEAF and Georgian. The event attracted delegates from across the UK and Europe, sparking conversations around cross-border collaboration and the international potential of Greater Manchester talent.

In addition to the performances, GMMC hosted a networking reception that fostered vital industry connections and provided a platform to highlight the commission’s broader mission to nurture local talent, secure export opportunities, and amplify Greater Manchester’s global music footprint.

Later in May, at The Great Escape—one of the UK’s most prestigious showcases for new music—GMMC presented a diverse lineup that included EVABEE, Hungry, Yasmin Coe and TTSSFU. The artists played to a packed-out venue and got the chance to network and connect with fellow artists and industry.

The success of these showcases reinforces GMMC’s role as a driving force behind the region’s cultural and creative economy, proving that Greater Manchester remains one of the UK’s most exciting and influential music hubs.
